About EIN Easy Guide
EIN Easy Guide is part of Easy Guides, an independent publisher founded in 2025 that turns confusing official processes, tax forms, paychecks, and government paperwork, into plain-English steps anyone can follow.
Who's behind this site
EIN Easy Guide is produced and maintained by the Easy Guides editorial team. We are not a law firm, an accounting firm, or the IRS, and we say so on every page. We're a small independent team whose only job is turning official, jargon-heavy instructions into steps a normal person can act on.
How we work
Every guide starts from primary sources, the official documents that govern the topic, not other blogs. For Employer Identification Numbers, that means IRS Form SS-4 and the online EIN application, and the IRS "Do You Need an EIN?" guidance. We link those sources inside each guide and fact-check key figures against the current IRS source for the relevant tax year. Our full standards are in our Editorial & Fact-Check Policy.
Why we built it
An EIN lets you keep your SSN off every W-9 and form. We show who needs one and how to get it free in minutes.
